  • Hello @darthvader666uk,

Let’s take a look at the CastFeed Validator results and start there. There are two items that should be fixed. First the red “ERROR: Video Games is not a valid subcategory for Technology” needs to be fixed and it says the image is slightly too large. Additionally it says the SSL certificate for your site may not be accepted by iTunes. We have a list of accepted certs in our help docs.Try fixing these items and then try submitting your feed. It should be accepted with these changes. Let us know how that works for you.

Thank you @itsjusteileen for your reply!

Well looks like CastFeed Validator is bringing back different results which are good.

For “ERROR: Video Games is not a valid subcategory for Technology”, I don’t know what other categories it would have gone with. Is there a list somewhere as I didn’t see anything in the settings.

As for the image, the settings recommend “Your podcast cover image – must have a minimum size of 1400×1400 px.” and I took the Seriously Simple Podcasting settings as the correct way to set up the feed, any advice on a good image size?

For SSL, it’s a free one with the hosting and didn’t want to pay for an SSL if we can help it.

    Hello @darthvader666uk,

We have a list here with the recent changes Apple made to categories. For your image, it must be at least 1400 X 1400 px square but the total size of the file counts as well. Try saving the image at 72 ppi to compress the size which should help. Let’s Encrypt which is free is on the list of certs Apple accepts . Your hosting provider can help you get that setup. Let us know how that works out for you.

Thank you very much for the very useful information @itsjusteileen ??

I noticed its complaining about dts.podtrac.com which is a tracking link for https://publisher.podtrac.com. Not too sure if I can do alot about that…

But the rest is good, thank you ??
