RSS Feed broken for private posts

I use the functionality “RSS feeds include excerpts of content viewable only by members” to allow my readers to know that knew content was available while still making the content private. However, since approximately 1/1/2013 this functionality appears to be broken, and any private posts do not show up at all in the RSS feed.
