Hello, I use your plugin to create events for our NGO and send them to our members in order to remind them to attend. To do so I use mailchimp rss email which sends an email once a new(or updated) item is included in the rss feed.
For some reason though mailchimp is trigered everyday dispite the fact no update or new event is included! I noticed that the <lastBuildDate> tag of the rss feed is updated with the last date the email is sent or someone declared that will attend the event. AND this should be a bug! Any of the above events should not update the feed and trigger any actions related to that update.
    ANy idea to resolve this?
    thanks

    Hi @faitas!

MailChimp should be looking at the pubDate part of an individual item in your feed, rather than the lastBuildDate part of the entire feed. This shouldn’t change unless you’re updating the published date of an event.

If you’re looking for more fine-grained control of which events are included and what event details are included, Event Calendar Newsletter gives a lot more control. You can create multiple saved templates, each one generating an RSS feed, and you can pick how they show to MailChimp as ‘new’:

    Hope that helps!

Hi, yes it is looking the pubdate BUT the pubdate is the future date that the event will take place!! so there is an issue with that setting.
Any idea on how I can change that to the date that the event is published or the date that RSVP starts?
There are some info here showing that can be done, but I am very novice for that still.

    I would appreciate the help.

    thank you.

    Hi @faitas!

You’d need to use one of the existing filters or override the output, which is essentially part of what Event Calendar Newsletter is doing. Either that or hire a developer to customize it to your unique needs.
