    Hello,

    Wordpress 6.2.2

Not sure when, but at some point recently the RSS feed for youtellmetexas.com has stopped working. Now when I try to access the feed (youtellmetexas.com/feed/ I get:
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
I have tried changing themes (no luck), disabling plugins (nope), reinstalling wordpress (nada) and still get that message.
It appears to be more of a server side error, so I contacted out hosting and they have no idea what the deal might be. I did go to the includes directory and check permissions – all of the files in there are 644. I change the permissions on any rss named files to first 755 (no joy) and then 777 but still no luck.

Anyone have any other ideas of how to troubleshoot?
    Thanks!

  • Your correct feed URL is this:

    https://www.youtellmetexas.com/?feed=rss2

That’s because your site is not using pretty permalinks. So the feed URL /feed/ is not available at all.

If you want to use /feed/, you need to configure your site to use pretty permalinks. But note that this will affect ALL URLs on your site, not just the feed URL… though all “ugly URLS” (wg /?p=9494) will be forwarded to the new pretty URLs (e /epic-eruption/).

    Good luck!

You’re a genius, George! Thank you so much! I did change the permalinks not too long ago – didn’t even think about that!

    Thanks again!
