  • I have a similar question. I see WP blogs with “Add to: MyYahoo, MyMSN, Google, etc” Buttons. The buttons all link to a folder on one site, on other sites they link to site.com/rss.xml (I don’t know if this is correct because I tried it in Google and Google couldn’t find anything).

What do I need to do to feed my blog to the world?
Or what am I doing wrong.

All searches I have done result in information that a subscriber would want, not somebody that wants to give people something to subscribe to.

Pass the URL to your feed to an RSS validator to make sure (try https://feedvalidator.org/).

You can find the RSS feed for your blog simply at yoururl/feed

You are better off linking to this, or to

    yoururl/feed/rss
    yoururl/feed/rss2
    yoururl/feed/atom

I personally think it’s impolite to have an “Add to My….” type link for your feed, as you’re leaving it up to the user to decide how they do it. A link for a feed should be to the feed (in my opinion).

I do however think it’s a good idea to have a “What’s a Feed?” type link pointing to a page that explains feed readers and the new breed of online readers/aggregators.

See this is where I am getting confused,

    I don’t have a folder called myurl.com/feed/
so I get a 404 when I try to view it.

When I try to get to myurl/feed/rss I get
a “Page could not be displayed” error.

OKay so I used RSSAuthenicator and it told me my feed was located at:

    https://www.MYDOMAIN.net/?feed%3Drss2

So then I tried to add it to MyYahoo and it showed that there have been no new items in the past 5 days, which is wrong.

    Try yoururl.com/wp-feed.php

    Thanks Jared.

Just out of curiousity, do you know what Yahoo
is looking for? It duplicated all my blog entries …..

Can’t help you there sorry… Perhaps you got submitted twice or something? May have to take that one up with Yahoo.
