Updraft Plus runs like clockwork and I have been able to do a test restore with some awkwardness because …

The files from the WordPress root folder are not found in the backup/zip files. (wp-config.php, htaccess, etc.) I had to copy these from the existing, operating installation – but they might not be available if the site crashed or was hacked, etc.

The only exclusions I have listed are “backup*” from the first exclusion field and “upgrade, cache*,updraft, backup*” from the second exclusion field. I assume the first is for WP root and the second for “wp-content” (realizing now that it’s not really documented/clear how these fields apply).

Have I misinterpreted something here? Shouldn’t UD include all of the WP config files?

    Thanks.
