I’m also currently working on implementing version of the phone number where you can enter a “regex” value (and I will list common country versions) to sanity check the phone number. I hope to get this update out ASAP.

I have uploaded a new version and it should be live soon. This adds a “regex” and “example” on the Locale Settings page. If you leave these blank, it does no sanity checking and they can enter any value. If you enter a regex (there are common ones included on the page), it will validate using that. Can you let me know if this fixes things? Thanks!
