• After working on a website since November my theme has decided to delete everything and rollback to its original theme.

Is there a way of rolling the site back by one day? The site was made in a accordion tab section under Theme Options and that is now back to its default, im desperate I have a paying client who is going to explode tomorrow: https://www.prestigeaudio.co.uk/wp/

Ive managed to locate a backup of the site that’s only a couple of weeks out. Literally it is a FTP backup as opposed to any clever import, is there a way of importing this?

Theme’s don’t just do that for no reason. The most likely thing is that the theme was updated, and that’s over-written any modifications that you’ve done.

In any case, you have got two options here.

    1. Re-upload the modified files that you have stored locally during the development (you do keep local copies of the files, don’t you??)
    2. Get your hosting company to roll back to a backup that they have from a date that you know the changes were applied

Unless you or your hosting company have a backup there’s nothing that anyone can do to get your changes back.

And let this be a very big warning that you should always do any theme changes in a child theme, and your modifications won’t be wiped out like this when the theme is updated.

    Im fairly new to WordPress.

Last week I happened to save the whole website via FTP, now obviously this isn’t a proper WordPress backup however when I open it I can view the website offline perfectly. In the case of an oldschool website I would just load that back up to the server and it would work.

Can you advise where I need to load the files too, as to prevent making this any worse?

You would need to upload the themes files to the themes folder on the web server. It really is that easy.

ok and that should restore the “theme options” basically the whole site was in a tabbed accordion piece that appeared under Theme Options

It might… but that sort of thing is mostly database records. If anything in the database has changed then that’s a different thing and will need different work, but it’s pretty unlikely that anythings changed there.
