Hey @yano23,
You can find older releases of the plugin (any plugin in fact) via the Advanced View section.
To do a manual rollback:
- (Optional but highly recommended) Do a full backup of your site, including files and database. This is so you have a known working copy of your site in case you need to revert back for whatever reason.
- Go to the Advanced View section and under Previous Versions you’ll find a dropdown that will let you download older versions of the plugin. Pick the one you want to downgrade to and download it.
- Go to your WP Dashboard > Plugins > Add New Plugin, click on the Upload Plugin button you’ll see at the top left of your screen, select the zip file you just downloaded, click on Install Now and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the install.
That should do the trick.
If you prefer the automated route, there are some plugins out there that can help you with the whole rollback stuff with a couple of clicks – like WP Rollback for example. I haven’t used any of those myself so I can’t say how effective / good they are, just wanted to let you know that that option is there as well.
Things to keep in mind:
- I only provide support for the latest version of the plugin. If you find yourself needing help with something while using an older version of the plugin (a bug, a security issue, a feature that’s only available in newer versions of the plugin, etc) know that you’ll be on your own there.
- It might be a good idea to check the plugin’s changelog while picking the version you want to downgrade to. That way you’ll know which release is the best for you (and what you may be missing from newer releases as well.)
- Testing everything after making changes to your site is always recommended (and as the owner / administrator of the site it is your responsibility to do so.)
