Roles — allowing new users to comment

  • Using Talian theme on a new blog, I’m not able to allow new users to register and comment. I have both membership boxes checked (“Anyone can register” and “Users must be registered…etc.”). The New User Default Role is set to “Contributor.” But when a new user clicks to comment, they don’t get a registration screen. Is there a setting somewhere I’ve missed?

  • hi there, I would check out the different roles available.
    At the present time I have my new users default set to subscribers.
    Which is a level where they should be able to comment if registered and logged in according to your current settings.
    There is also a good plugin called role manager which may help you decide.
