• According to documentation the Role of Editor is supposed to give the user the ability to do these functions but its not. Why is that?

  • Plugins can change the default capabilities of user roles and even introduce entirely new roles. So maybe one of your plugins is the reason behind this problem. Try deactivating them and reactivating them one by one.

BTW which capabilities are your editors not getting?

Not even going to disable then re-enable the plugins to try this with the possibility of screwing up the site.

As for which ones the Editor role isn’t able to do, just about every single one in the list I posted.

All I saw when I had it set to Editor was Delete and Read.

Are the developers of any plugins not realize that their plugins can change the abilities of the WP roles?

All I saw when I had it set to Editor was Delete and Read.

Where did you see these two capabilities?

You should install a role management plugin on your website to make sure that there is indeed a problem.

When I went to a page in Pages.

Ok, will look into that plugin.

I’m not finding any Role Management plugin for Word Press 4.1 Saw a couple for much older versions of WP but not the 4.1

Try this one. It’s from a trusted author.

Its not valid for WP 4.1

    Requires: 3.4 or higher
    Compatible up to: 3.7.1

I agree the author should update the “Compatible up to” text. But It doesn’t say anything about the quality of the plugin though. Just that it wasn’t recently updated.

I found his website and sent a message to him about its compatibility for 4.1
