That’s the solution: “to set a different featured image for each translation”.

There is a setting in Polylang/settings/Synchronisation/… where you can choose to synchronize the featured image or not.

“Force WebP” mode have not been used.

After re-optimizing webp images with the new version of EWWW IO (5.8.0) it seems that webp images are smaller than the jpgs.
