Role scoper winding down question

Since role scoper is winding down development, will the plugin still work when it’s completely abandoned? I understand that there won’t be dev support, but the plugin will remain active and still work as long as nothing breaks, correct? I’d like to keep the plugin and not change anything, and continue to use it if possible (great plugin!). Thanks.
