Role Based Search Options

    We are using MemberPress so show premium content to paying members. Now we would like to offer premium search using this plugin and Algolia to our members. We could load a search widget with a shortcode paying member check and another basic search widget for non members. But we would prefer to load search once and limit options based on user role. If non paying, get basic WP search, if paying get Algolia based search. Any ideas how we could about this the best way?

    Hmm, I don’t have an answer right off the top of my head. I know that the plugin intercepts the search query and request, and then sends that data to Algolia to get Algolia’s version of the results, and then filters those back in to display to the user.

    So the question would ultimately be how to prevent that for non-premium users.
