Role based discount for customers

Hi,

we face the following issue:

We created a role based discount of 5 % on all products if user role = customer. That works absolutely fine and as expedtced for existing customers.

But if a new one decides to create an account during checkout, the discount is not applied to the initial order. Technically I understand why.

But do you have any idea, code snippet, work around to check at the time of order submission if an account has been requested / created in the meanwhile (between the time of adding the product to cart at normal price and the time of finishing checkout)? Or is there any additional pricing rule concept we can use for initial orders?
