• Hello,

i have a problem with changing the role in the frontend.

If I use the predefined field, then this works with a standard role (e.g. subscriber) without problems. However, if I want to assign a role of my own that has been created above it, it removes the role that has been assigned so far and does not create a new one.

What do I have to set here, so that this also works with my own roles?

I cannot see any logic in this behavior, because the roles are all WP roles, not UM roles!

    Hi @pitware2005,

I’m afraid, it’s only possible to change user roles on the backend or assign a role during registration.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    thanks for the answer.

However, this irritates me somewhat! There are 2 predefined fields (roles “Ratio” and “Dropdown menu”) for the profile page. This is just for that.
As already written, if you use the WordPress standard roles e.g. Subscriber as option for these fields, then the assignment of the roles 1a works.
But as soon as you want to use your own role, e.g. Co-Admin, it doesn’t work anymore.

Why does it work with the standard roles but not with created roles?
