This is because Roku has changed their ingestion engine. You will need to contact your host and tell them to allow the Roku Direct Publisher user agent or disable user agents altogether.

Unfortunately, this is not a WP Smart TV error, but an issue between Roku and your host.

@robdavenport Who do you reccomend for host that is more friendly for Roku TV. Bluehost said they enabled the UA for Roku DP but still getting error

We recommend WP Engine as we have had absolutely no issues getting Roku Direct Publisher to work with them.

DreamHost is another option we have used, but we recommend either Dreamhost VPS or DreamPress packages as they work the best.

Hi Rob, I am having the same problem with my channel. I contacted my host, Hostgator and they need clarification on how to allow the Roku Direct Publisher user agent or disable user agents altogether. They said I need to get more specific information on what they need to do on their end to make this happen. Is it a script change or something else. Thanks!

Honestly, I have no answers at this point. Even with the user agents allowed some hosts are still having issues.

My only recommendations are find a different host or contact Roku and see if they will give you an answer. So far we haven’t had much luck with their tech support offering a firm answer.

@screenmagicent I ended up biting the bullet and getting a new host DreamHost VPS . Virtual Private Server hosting will resolve this. It was not that much more expensive

Thanks guys, I’ll see what I can come up with.
