Rogue PlugIn Removal

    A plug in which I installed for beta testing is now preventing me from logging in to the admin side of my blog.

    Is there a way I can uninstall the plugin by deleting/modifying files directly on the server as I cannot access my dashboard at all?

    Access your server via FTP/ SFTP , or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the desired plugin

    Thanks for that t-p. Is it really that simple, or are there any possible dependencies that could cause issues?

    By the way, I managed to resolve this myself but only because I had Updraft Dashboard installed on my lead blog. That was able to log me in to the problem blog (though direct log in was not working for me) and once in I deactivated and deleted the rogue from my dashboard – all good now but it does mean I heartily recommend Updraft as a saviour. May be worth considering having a totally clean extra blog installed just to host the Updraft software?
