• Installed this on a major corporate blog website – only to find the plugin had ‘gone rogue’ and installed a customised google search.

Updated the plugin and tried to edit settings, and got the message ‘you do not have sufficient administrator rights to modify the plugin settings’ – so Immediately it got deactivated and went in the bin.

Sorry, it may well be fixed in later / current versions, but this is the kind of thing that’s an absolute no in any kind of professional environment.

  • Hi Dan,

I use this plug-in on all of my websites. I will admit that I freaked out and thought my website was hacked when I saw that Google search bar. It turns out it was part of the update.
Another plug-in update later and on new installations of this plug-in on other sites, I have not had the Google search bar opt’d in by default. You may want to try it again and see if the search is not defaulted ‘on’ for you.
