Hi, I have used your HTML sitemap option for some time on my sites, so I thought I’d try your XML sitemap option too – however I’ve noticed that it is repeatedly re-writing/writing over the existing robots.txt file – it either deletes everything and leaves a blank empty file, or it deletes everything and then adds a link to the XML sitemap……. then on some sites I’ve noticed it is renaming my robots.txt files to r,txt – I’ve checked it out on a few websites and noticed if I un-tick the default “create robots.txt file” option, it then deletes my existing robots.txt file content and changes the fie name (renames it to r.txt).

It’s happening repeatedly too… I’m having to now log into the server and manually check and or repair all my robots.txt files whenever I edit or save the plugin settings page. I manage over 25 websites, and it’s happening on all of them.

I think it would be better if it wasn’t installed with certain things already ticked for us, as it seems like un-ticking them is when it overwrites everything….

    Regards, Karen

    Hello @karban,

We are very sorry about the issues which you are experiencing with our plugin.

This is definitely a glitch, because you should never see a r.txt file. There should be only the main robots.txt file, and a backup of the version before installation of our plugin – robots-click5-backup.txt.

We are investigating the issue and fix will be included in the next version of our plugin v1.0.35, which will be released in the next 7-10 days.

    We will keep you posted.

    Thanks,
    click5 Team
