RML compatibility request!

    Hi
    First, thanks for your great plugin.
    I use your plugin to list my files and I also use the great “RML” plugin too, to organize my files.
    But it could be much better if your plugin could be compatible with RML, so I could list files in a specific folder in the frontend.

    Here is Matthew, the developer of Real Media Library (RML). If you are interested in a compatibility we can start a cooperation and provide a rml attribute to the shortcode.

    I think we could probably have a look, you will have to bare with me as this is much of a hobby for me and thus my progress is slow and iterative, the plugin was developed in-house private due to a specific client need and has made its way to what it is today and publicly available.

    I’ve had a brush over RML and it appears we could use a custom query that pulls data similarly to how your plugin is already doing so.

    My first question is can we query the attachments within your folders and then piggy-back off of the existing code in my plugin and like you say, trigger it with an rml attribute?

    At the moment my plugin is using post_status to change between the post and global attachments.

    Do you have any ideas too?

    I checked your code and have put it into a gist. Just add the following changes and your shortcode should work with Real Media Library folders:

    Usage:

    [medialist rml_folder="1"]

    rml_folder is the folder ID. You can find the folder ID by selecting a folder, and click the three dots on the folder toolbar. A dialog opens and in the bottom right corner there is text label with the ID.

    Thank you for update, that was way simpler than I expected, I’m really chuffed about that. It instantly worked and no issues that I can see, the other attributes work as an extension and I see your folder browser maintains the ability to attach files to page, I’ve been sure to mention this in the ReadMe.

    I’ve gone ahead and made those additions, the RML compatible version is live 1.3.4.
