    Hi,

    This can be either :
    – misunderstanding (forgot) of features or parameters
    – enhancement suggestion

The question is : do an access restriction, if applied to a submenu at a level n, will be applied to menu item dependant at level n+m (m:1-k), or each element must have same restrictions ?

For now what happens : The main sub-menu is cut off but the dependent elements which are with no limitation in nav-menu-roles (“everybody”) appear at first level menu at the end of visitor menu.

What I would is that a limitation to a sub menu could be inherited by his dependence (if not, menu are unstructured and/or result cannot easily be foresight because only the header of a sub-menu is cut off)

    The purpose and context :
I have elements of menu that are lists (w4 post list)
These elements are for some :
    1- accessible by anyone
2- reserved to admin and authors (review list of documents)
type 1 appear in two different menu : a-everybody b- limited to admin-author
    type 2 appear only in admin-authors sub-menu

    Solutions and requests :
The limitation of access to documents is necessary but is not the full solution, see note 1.
Currently the lonely way to solve the problem is to repeat the identical parameters (limitations) for each dependent sub-menu or elements, it is boring and a great risk of errors, I really don’t understand. It is in my opinion a work around, I was looking for a check box “apply to dependency”

I think that I miss something because I have not changed the menu for such a feature since a very long time. But I am lost.

    Best regards

    Trebly

note 1 : surely must be coherent : if limitation to document are for people which are not limited in menu access they will get a “forbidden access” while if menu access is according to the limitation is not visible.

I don’t fully understand your question, but if a top-level menu item is not visible then NMR will hide all it’s child menu items even if their visibility setting would’ve allowed it to be displayed.
