Right Sidebar Moves When in Category View

  • I just installed Monochrome Gallery and have noticed (pre any serious customization) that when viewing all posts in a Category, the right sidebar moves underneath the main content area and aligns to the left. Is this a bug in the theme? The right sidebar stays put while viewing Home, other Pages, and single Posts. Any help on this matter would be GREATLY appreciated (as staring at 16 pages of code is giving this amateur a headache!!).

  • You have an extra </div> tag in category.php, according to XHTML validation. That throws the dispaly off. Did you edit your theme? If not, get a fresh copy of category.php.

    Thanks so much for your reply! This answer makes sense, except for the fact that there is no “category.php” file included. At least it’s not readily apparent (ie: when I go to edit my theme, it does not appear as an optional file to edit). I will need to do some digging around, but at least now I have a direction to go. Thanks for your time!

    Oh wait! It’s not entitled “category.php”, but “archives.php.” I found it and believe I fixed it. Thank you, thank you!

    Yup, it validates now….
