Right sidebar displaying at left hand side of page

Hello,

I’m currently using the Colormag theme and trying to change the layout of my pages from right sidebar to left sidebar. I had a menu in the right sidebar, with my default page setting as right sidebar. I simply changed the default page setting to left sidebar and dragged and dropped my menu over to the left sidebar section in the widgets appearance editor. I haven’t touched the php or css files, but somehow I am now stuck with the right sidebar widget displaying in the space where the left sidebar widget should be displaying.

So if I put something in the right hand widget space, it displays in the left side. If I put nothing in the right, I get the default right widget example text in the left side. If I put something in the left widget space, it displays on the left underneath the supposedly right hand widget content or default message. I’ve tried changing default page settings generally and on individual pages, but as long as I have a left sidebar, it is filled with right sidebar content. Can anyone advise why this might be happening and how to fix?
