    Hello @anti89,

Thank you for reaching out with your query on product image setup for WooCommerce.

When uploading images in WooCommerce, you do not need to upload the product’s main image in the product gallery as well. Here’s the recommended setup:

    1. Product Image: This is the main image for your product and will be the primary image customers see in your store.
    2. Product Gallery: This is for additional images of your product, such as different angles or close-up shots.

Uploading the product image to the gallery is unnecessary and would result in duplicates.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @anti89,

Its not possible to upload all the images in 1 of the 2 places?

It’s advised to use both features, as they serve different purposes. The featured image only allows for one image to be uploaded to it and it’s meant to show the product’s main image, it’ll be shown in the shop page, archive pages, search page, checkout and cart pages, etc.

The gallery is meant to display additional pictures, of course. There’s an open feature request here that asks for the first image in the gallery to be set as the featured image automatically. You could chime in that feature request to show interest so our developers can consider this.

I hope this helps so far!
