Right Alignment problem with WordPress 5.0

  • I am having the strangest bug and it definitely seems to be tied to Polylang.

    The problem is: Once Polylang is activated, all text on the website becomes aligned to the right/floated to the right.

    This means my menu is showing in reverse order (right to left instead of left to right). All text in paragraphs is right rather than left aligned.

    I am running:
    WordPress 5.0.3
    Polylang 2.5.1

    I have tried turning off all other plugins and I have changed the theme back to Twenty Seventeen to rule out a conflict with the theme or another plugin.

    In all cases the result is the same:
    Polylang deactivated –> everything fine
    Polylang activated –> Everything suddenly floated to the right.
