    Hello

I need some help uploading .rfa file types. I have previously installed and uploaded an RFA file to the library and this worked great. However a few months later and I am getting an error that says “Unexpected response from the server. The file may have been uploaded successfully. Check in the Media Library or reload the page.”

I have read the previous thread and tried implementing the fixes suggested however this did not work for me.

    Regards

    Hiren

Thanks for your report. The link you posted goes to an admin mode page, which I cannot access. You wrote “I have read the previous thread and tried implementing the fixes…“. Is this the topic you are referring to?

Adding RFA to Media Library | www.remarpro.com

If those suggestions did not help, that topic asks:

… if that does not resolve the problem it would be great if you can post a link to the file that isn’t working so I can try it on my system and investigate further. If posting a link isn’t possible you can?contact me at my web site?for instructions on where to send the file.

You can also try clicking the “Problems? Try the browser uploader instead.” link below the drag and drop area.

You can also navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant Debug tab to see if there are messages in the error log that might help.

Thanks for any additional details or example files you can provide, and thanks for your continued interest in the plugin.

Thanks for following up by email with a test file. I tried uploading it to my test system and received this error:

    “zody_chair_task_eu.rfa” has failed to upload.

Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type.

I then applied this fix from the earlier support topic:

    1. Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant Uploads tab.
    2. Check the “Always Use MLA MIME Type” box in the upper left part of the page.
    3. Click “Save Changes” to record the new setting.
    4. Try uploading the file again.

I tried uploading the file again and it was added to the Media Library without errors.  Have you tried the “Always Use MLA MIME Type” fix on your system?

Also, just to make sure, did you follow the instructions for adding .rfa as a custom type in this even older topic?

Let me know if the above suggestions are helpful.

It has been five weeks since my last post. I assume you have found a solution for updating the ALT Text values in your posts/pages.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or further questions regarding the above suggestions.
