Rewrite rules forbid access to all my site
-
I’ve just tried copying pasting the rewrite rules WordPress 1.5 generated for me by using the following URL structure for permalinks:
/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
and now my entire WordPress site just throws up 403 (access forbidden) errors when I try to access *anything*. If I don’t put the .htaccess file in then the permalinks are generated correctly but obviously they don’t actually lead to anything. I’ve also tried putting the rewrite rules in my httpd.conf virtual host for my site, but that caused the same problem. I’m running Apache 2.0.52 with PHP 4.3.10 and I have other rewrite rules on a blog running Nucleus without any problems and the same goes for my main blog which isn’t powered by WordPress either.
Does anyone have any ideas on what’s causing these errors? At the moment my blog is effectively broken (apart from the front page and the RSS feed).
Thanks in advance.
