Revolution Slider Updates

  • Hello,

    How can I update to the latest version if I got the plug-in through purchasing a theme?

    I use the Revolution Slider Plugin on several websites and so far it has been working great! I am very happy with it so far, so thank you very much!

    On one of my websites, the plug-in is experiencing some bugs, and I am unsure of the cause. I was thinking that if I was to update it to the latest version, the bugs would be fixed. Please let me know how I could go about to update my theme for perfect functionality and security purposes.

  • Just delete the folder of your plugin from ftp then you’ll get notification of missing plugin and need to be installed in your wp-dashboard. Just install it, and you get the newest version.

    Will this delete all the slides I have made already?

    in Plugins, click the tick box next to the ‘Revolution Slider’ plugin
    >>
    Drop down menu at the top that currently says “Bulk Actions”, click and drop down to “Update”
    >>
    Press “Apply”

    When a plugin is installed along with a theme, there is no option to update the plugin. Checking the box next to it and clicking on bulk actions and Update does not affect it.

    Is there a way to update a plugin without having to re-install it when there is no facility to do so within the Plugins dashboard page?

    TOTALLY WORKED!

    log in through FTP and download the folder for back up purposes, then delete it. In my case it deleted the entire content of the folder revslider, but not the folder itself so I had to rename it to revslider-old.

    Then log in through the admin panel and when it asks you to install the plugin, it will install the latest version.

    I don’t see how it could delete the slides because they are in the data-base.

    What is logging in through FTP? Is it just how you log in on the admin side? I click on revolution slider on the left hand side. I am given options such as settings, edit slides, export slider, delete, and duplicate. I have exported the slider, however I am hesitant to delete it because on the updates page, it says if you update a theme, any changes made will be lost. Any advice on how to update the revolution slider?

    I didn’t delete anything, but when you go to import something, you are given an option to browse (which you are able to upload the slider that you exported), but then there are options to overwrite or append the custom animations and the static styles. Do you know if you append or overwrite these?
