Revolution Slider and GTM Conflict- Solved

    Just giving my experience with a conflict and how I solved it.

    Duracelltomi this plugin is exceptional! Thank for you creating it!

    I recently installed this plugin and changed my header.php to accommodate the code.

    After, I realized my Revolution Slider on the homepage and IDX pages were no longer loading.

    After narrowing it down to this plugin I went through the settings to see what I could possibly change.

    The solution to get the Revolution Sliders to load was going into “Advanced” in the GTM settings, and changing the “dataLayer variable name” to “datalayer2.

    Simply renaming the datalayer allowed my Sliders to load again.

    Hope this helps someone with the same or similar problem!

    I find it strange that renaming the dataLayer solves this problem but anyway: I will try to do my own research and check what could cause this behavior.

    To add to this I also have Revolution Slider running but that didn’t give me a problem with this plugin.

    Do you suggest renaming datalayer and this process?
    I also have a similar kind of issue but on a larger scale.
    I intent to use gtm for analytics, adwords, advertising in future.

    Hi Roy,

    Since Revolution Slider is a paid plugin, I can not test it by myself to see what could cause the issue. Other people said that renaming the dataLayer can solve the issue but I can not guarantee it will work for you as well.
