• So you can revoke cookies using [cookies_revoke] shortcode.

This causes the banner to reappear like the first time you visit the site (as expected).

My confusion is because the banner says “We use cookies to ensure that we give you the best experience on our website. If you continue to use this site we will assume that you are happy with it.”

So… it’s going to store cookies (because you’re using the site) anyway? So what does revoking consent do?

GDPR states consent cannot be assumed, so users need to give “positive” consent by clicking the accept button. Cookies should not be stored until that is given.

This plugin feels like it’s just a banner for the sake of it. The site uses cookies and the banner is just informing you. There is no consent, no accepting, rejecting or revoking.

    Does anyone have any insights?
