• I just realized WordPress version 4.7 no longer offers post revisions. Damn it. I lost a very important post and I cannot find the post revisions to get it back. Is there a way to find this post? Can anyone help please? Thanks

  • WordPress 4.7 still uses post revisions. It is possible to disable revisions adding define('WP_POST_REVISIONS', false ); in a themes functions.php file or in a plugin.

Perhaps that line exists somewhere in your theme or plugins disabling post revisions?

Unfortunately, if that is the case, the post will likely be lost for good unless your web server has an older database backup available.

If you are not seeing revisions, when you’re on a post or page edit, click “screen options” at the top and check the “revisions” box.

Just in case someone is reading this. Remember that said checkbox only appears AFTER you make some revision.
