Revisionizing a post from another author changes the author

    Hi,

    First: I’m loving Revisionize, thank you! It’s working really well, but I’ve run into one little quirk that I think is a bug.

    I have a lot of guest posts on my site (from “contributor” level users). If I revisionize one of their posts, the new version changes the author of the post to my own account. I then have to manually change it back to their account when editing the new version.

    It would be great if the revisionized version maintained the original author.

    I can’t reproduce.

    Note that the Revision that you create will become your own, but when you publish it back, it will maintain the original author.

    Ah – I hadn’t tried publishing without changing the author back manually in the Revision! (since it gave no indication that it would change back to the original author). ??

    Yes, I agree that some documentation and improvements to the UI/X would benefit you guys. It’s on the list, but low priority right now!

    I have the opposite problem. I have a team of writers who revise old content, which is why I have the Pro plugin, but I need the author to update along with the content. One just published yesterday and had the byline of the author from last year, who no longer works for us. It makes more sense to me to update the author to whoever is making the changes because they are updating and rewriting the article. Can you please let me know what the plan is for updating or not updating the author? Or maybe make this a setting so everyone can choose? I didn’t see this in the settings, but is it in there somewhere? Please advise.

    Check version 2.3.0 – I’ve added a new setting, which should help.
