Reviews from different people added from the same IP

  • We are looking to use this plugin to feed reviews through to Google etc.

    Reviews will be added by individuals using a iPad. I assume that reviews added in this way will show on the WordPress site without any problems.

    Will Google display them though. If they come from the same IP will Google block or invalidate them?

    Reviews will be added by individuals using a iPad – in the same building, over the same WIFI network btw.

    Google has been displaying them just fine as ratings in the search engine results, but its really up to them. They have no to track the IP address submitted from, and since it’s done on your site, there shouldn’t be a problem there. To be clear, the reviews themselves will not show in google results, just the page where the reviews are, along with a rating. Make sense?

    Just to clarify, when you say this ‘They have no to track the IP address submitted from‘ – do you mean they cannot track the IP?

    Sorry about that – to clarify, yes, they can probably see the IP address. It is Google – they can do just about anything I suppose, but since it’s on your site I don’t see them tying the IP address to this plugin. It’s not their site, so they wouldn’t care.
