Your plugin review notice displays for all 179 Editors on the 74 of the websites I manage, despite the fact that only Administrators are able to manage WP Mail SMTP on those websites.

Is it futile for me to ask that you only display the review message (or any other wp mail smtp messages) to Administrators, as only Administrators manage technical aspects of a website?

    Hi there @chrslcy,

Thanks for reaching out! Please know that we designed our plugin review notices to pop up only for admins. To figure out who’s an admin, we use a built-in WordPress function called?is_super_admin. This function checks if a user has the power to?delete_users. If they do, they’re treated as an admin.

So, it seems that all of those editors might have been granted the ability to delete users, which is why they’re seeing the review message.

I hope this helps! Have a great day!

Oh. That’s good to know. Indeed the Editors have the elevated right to manage users, so that’ll be the reason.

Thank you very much for explaining that. I’ll continue using admin css to suppress the message.

    Thanks again!
