    Hi

Our product reviews have the name of the WordPress Author that wrote the review rather than the name that we have entered in on the edit product comment section…

This is a problem because we have manually added reviews/ratings for our products, and now it’s showing our author names instead of the full name we’ve entered in.

It seems to override our review comment name with the author who created the review. How can I get around this?

I would show a screenshot but I cannot see how to add them…

    Thanks in advance.

This screenshot is shows the section that allows reviews to be added whilst editing product:
    product review edit

This screenshot is the reviews tab section:

On our product pages, the reviews aren’t showing the full name of the comment author from this area:

So I made a test and I deleted the author user that created those reviews. They did not get deleted from the product review section, and the name has now been updated to the full name of the comment here – comment edit

    Hello there,

We have been checking your images and seems that you are editing the default comments, not the reviews, for this reason, the name in the reviews is still the same.

Unfortunately, at the moment it’s not possible to edit the author name in the free version of the plugin, even if you edit the linked comment. By default, the review uses the display name from the user, so it will depend on the configuration of each user.

If you have any doubt let us know and we will be happy to help you.

Ok thats strange because we have some reviews new created last year that display a different name to the username author name, almost like a standalone comment/review that is under an admin’s user.

Our situation is that we want to add reviews from our trustpilot website and have the review show the name that the comment is set to, and not the author users (as this is an admin username and it would show the same name for every new review we add).

Can this be achieved in the paid version? Or some custom code?

Yes. In the premium version, you can create reviews and change the name that will be shown publicly in the reviews. You can check the live demo of the premium version and check if it will fit your needs.

So if for example, we have a staff wordpress user account that will be adding reviews, will the reviews still show the username who added it or can we set it to any name we want?

    Hello Sam,

Exactly, you can edit the review and change the name that will appear in the review. You can see the option in this image.
