Review My Site – Feedback Appreciated

It looks that site have rich content, probably you worked hard on that.
Nice web, just notice, down in contact where you have email to admin – picture does not show.
I m not fan of sliders, so I dont like that on page ?? I never clicked on any slider on some website.
Also banner dominate on top, so your logo is hidden. Font in logo also not so well readable for me, so I can forget name of your site fast.
Randomly also in link /compare-quotes/trauma-cover-australia/ picture does not show – if use some cdn, check it.
From my view also too many utube videos for insurance website.

In Safari after try to use ”search” website does not respond and does not search, something wrong there.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been working on mobile apps and other websites but fixed the text of the on the logo today.

The theme only looks completed at the top with a banner advertisement. Changing may mean hacking the theme or changing theme altogether and Im not ready to do that.

The search results actually sit underneath the slider so you don’t see the results until you scrol down. I just picked up on this. Thanks for letting me know.

Its not only that big slider hidde result, but search function itself do crash after enter – search.

Hey there, a i want to share a few things i noticed that might be an improvment if you take a closer look on them. Note that some of these might be the same as @flashrebel wrote, but im doing it with my words ??

Here it is:
1. Black links on dark-ish blue nav is not high contrast. You could try with white links for example ??
2. Your logo is very complex. You have bevel, shadows, strokes, 3d renders, “complex” font and lots of text while the rest of your site is all flat. Think on finding some way to make those two fit, because your site is all the body you present for example, but your logo is so to say the face of it.
3. After scrolling down to the main content (home page) its hard to distinguish diferent types of headings. Small, big, bold, thin… they dont make much sense and there is no hierarchy. I tried to scroll fast down whitout reading and i couldnt see diferences in the content – i didnt see diferent headings to show diferent types of text as heading of a chapter. I believe this is something you should work on more.
4. Your navigation menu lags. There is big delay when it refreshes.
5. In the footer you have broken image
6. In the home page i sugest you to separate the logos with borders top and bottom and good padding, so you separate the heading part of the site from the blog-like one.

I don’t want to be scathing, but…

a couple of things leapt out at me within moments of opening the page, which made me close it again pretty quickly without clicking through any deeper into the site.

The first was that it loads very slowly, there are a lot of images on the home page (which perhaps aren’t well optimised) and the whole thing just seems to take a very long time to load.

The second was the header image/logo – it just looks very un-serious and not business like, If I am looking for advice about financial products then a logo with a ‘kiddy’ font does not inspire me.

Finally the music I was in the middle of listening to was suddenly interrupted by a voice speaking over it, which I had to scroll down the page to identify before I could shut it off. If you want audio then great, but make it an option instead of forcing people to hear it. A massive amount of people will be listening to other things at moment they arrive on the page and will close the page rather than whatever else they have chosen to listen to.

As previously mentioned by John, the site takes far too long to load.

Also I would seriously consider preventing the YouTube video auto playing. No one appreciates it when sites auto play their videos, personally it makes me close the site instantly and I make sure to never visit the site again unless I really have to.

There is also far too much going on and I have no idea where to go after the homepage. You need a stronger CTA.

With a bit of work the site could be alright though.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The website is making very little money currently due to the highly competitive niche. So I am expecting it to take sometime to build page rank. I am targetting long-tail keywords like compare Life Insurance in Australia, so once it starts making more money I will put it on a better server to speed up page load times.

I will work on the font of the logo John but I am currently testing the logo to see if it converts, I went for a kiddy look because people take out life insurance to protect the children and family, and the idea was that it would help emote those feelings.

I have made adjustments according to feedback here so thanks for letting me know. Feedback is appreciated.
