I have a Woocommerce site that is RFQ (request-for-quote) only, i.e. there is no “live” ecommerce and so there will never be any reviews. I am getting warnings about missing Reviews and Aggregatereviews schema data on every product page. I have turned off the Reviews function in Woocommerce, but the Google Console errors persist.

Will buying/installing Yoast WooCommerce SEO Plugin allow me to stop the schema from appearing for review data in the first place (or deal with it in some other way) to stop Google looking for it?

    Thanks.

    Hello @culejules,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The Review structured data is created by WooCommerce and not by the Yoast SEO plugin or Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin. The Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin will help output that structured data in a way that integrates with how we output schema.org, however, you will still need that specific review data.

To add the review data, each product needs to have at least one review. These properties are required by Google. You can see the details in Google’s Product structured data documentation here — https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product.

Google expects that each product has one review. When it lacks it, it tosses out that warning. This guide explains more — https://yoast.com/help/aggregaterating-review-offer-required/

Please keep in mind that you will need some customer reviews. If your customers did not leave any reviews for your products, WooCommerce does not have any data to show in the review and aggregateRating markup and will, therefore, not output it.

And since your site will not have reviews, it is safe to ignore the notification.

    Hi Maybellyne

    Thanks for your swift response.

OK, I will ignore it for now as you suggest. (Perhaps Woocommerce will come up with an elegant workaround for sites like mine eventually!)

    I appreciate your help ??
