• I have a web site using WordPress 5.4.2 running Brigsby theme. Having had issues with editing (need to use different fonts, italics etc) using the block editor, I activated the ‘classic editor’ so I could continue updating my site. However, this means I’m not able to benefit from the Block Editor which is a more modern and quick way of editing my site, eg. adding in columns, photos etc. So I’ve deactivated the Classic Editor.

However, when I then go into a page to edit it, what is displayed is the version of the web pages as of last July! I have changed our web site significantly since then, and continue making changes every week.

Please can someone advise how I can get the current version of our site appearing in the edit screen so that I can update it.

Are you talking about the post editor page? Or the theme customization page? Currently your site is not showing the latest changes?

Hi, Thanks for your message. If I have the classic editor activated, it does show my latest changes as shown on our live web site (and this is how I’ve been editing the pages over the last number of months as I couldn’t get the block editor to give me the option to format text as I needed). However, i want to be able to use the block editor, so I deactivated ‘classic editor’ and when I go to edit a page it shows the content of the web pages as they were last August! This is clearly no good! I’m not sure what you call that edit screen, and there doesn’t seem to be able a way for me to attach a screenshot here to share the page with you.

I believe that if you switch editors, posts written with the classic will not show up. I strongly suggest to contact the plugin developer

a2hostingrj – Thanks for your reply. This is very disappointing if switching editors means it won’t remember content I’ve added in the Classic editor, as I used advice received that switching editors would just mean you edit in a different way.

My understanding is that that the Classic Editor hides all functionality available in the new block editor (“Gutenberg”), rather than stops updating your content.

What do you mean by the plugin developer? Is that the developer of the Classic Editor or of the Brigsby theme?

How could I find out the details of the developer to contact them?

I read a while ago that some Classic elements don’t play nice with Gutenberg blocks and vice-versa.

How could I find out the details of the developer to contact them?
