I went to this page https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-the-list-widget/, and saw a screenshot that shows a sample of events, with the sequence of the different events in chronological order (that is, with the earlier events appearing at the top of the list, and the later events at the bottom).

For some reason the events on my client’s website are appearing in the reverse order.

How can I fix this so that they appear in the regular order?

  • I am having the same issue and am looking for a fix for this.

    Hey folks,

Sorry for the trouble here with how events are ordered in the list widget!

I have been unable to see the same issue on my test site. My site is running The Events Calendar 4.3.5, WordPress 4.7, the Twenty Sixteen theme, and no other plugins.

Can you confirm the issue still exists in those same conditions? If they do, would you be willing to share a link where I can see it in those conditions?

    Thanks!
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

My site is running WordPress 4.7, The Events Calendar 4.3.5, and v2.1.2 of the Genesis Framework (Outreach Pro theme).

The other 11 plugins that are installed and activated on the site are: Custom Meta Box Template, Email Address Encoder, Genesis Responsive Slider, Genesis Simple Edits, Quotes Collection, Regenerate Thumbnails, Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form, Simple Sitemap, Simple Social Icons, Ultimate Coming Soon Page, and WenderHost Subpages widget.

Is it best to start troubleshooting by deactivating these other plugins?

By the way, the page can be seen at https://mountainlaurel.org/ ,under the rotating banner area.

    Hello Geoff,

I’ll try these now and see what happens.

Here’s the link to the calendar page where my issue is happening. https://www.oldparishchurch.org/calendar/

I used the shortcode for Upcoming Events Full to display the calendar on that page. [upcoming_events_full display_posts=”30″ desc_limit=”150″ event_type=”upcoming” read_more_text=”Read more…”]

Let me know if I should open another topic on the forum, since it seems like we are experiencing different (yet similar) issues.

I’m running WordPress 4.7, The Events Calendar 4.3.5 and activated the 2016 theme.

With only The Events Calendar plugin activated, the list view does show up chronologically and not reversed like it was before. That means that it’s not an issue with the Event plugin?

I’m going to submit a support ticket with the Spiritual theme developers because when I use their shortcode functions to add in an events list to my calendar page, it lists them in the wrong way. I’ll see where I get with that.

    Hi Kerri,

So sorry that this thread seems to have slipped through the cracks! I’d love to help. If you’re still having this issue as of the current version, could you please send me a link to your site and some steps for replicating the issue so I can help you out?

    Best,

    Shelby

    Hi Shelby,

Thanks for getting back in touch. I originally posted this thread a couple of months ago, and unfortunately still haven’t been able to figure out a solution.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The site in question is https://mountainlaurel.org/

Here is the link to the website where the issue was occurring:
    https://www.oldparishchurch.org/calendar/

Currently, the event order is correct, but we are still experiencing a weird event stacking issue. I don’t exactly have the correct vocabulary to explain it but sometimes the events cause a row to bump down prematurely and then start halfway through the next row.

I have not be able to figure out how to address this. The theme developers said they would fix it in the next theme update, which I’m still waiting for it to come out.

    Thanks for your help!
