Revealing Content After a Certain Timeframe After Posting

  • Plugin works really well at revealing content after the user begins viewing a page. However, what I need is a way to reveal the content 1 day after the content is posted. I have read about strtotime which may be the answer, however the discussion I’ve seen around the topic on other sites is confusing. Is there a shortcode I can use to reveal content after a certain amount of time has passed, regardless of whether the user is viewing the page? I think this would be particular useful for most people because, using the methods described in the plugin page examples, the user could decide to hit their refresh button and then the timer starts again.

    Additional note if needed – the posted content will be created by myself and others accessing the site.

    It is not possible to reveal content automatically one day after posting.

    You have to calculate the exact date yourself and use that date in a rule or shortcode.

    Yes, it would be possible to create a shortcode plugin which reveals content after a given amount of time after the post creation date. Maybe I’ll add this to Timed Content as an additional option. However, I don’t have time for this at the moment, since I’m quite busy with other projects as well. Maybe in 2-3 weeks, but I can’t promise anything yet.

    I just released a major update which was neccessary to deal with the broken mixed date formats of the older versions. The idea of having rules depending on the post date is not implemented yet, but it’s still on my backlog for the next updates.
