Revanssi and private posts

I’m trying to get Revanssi to search on tags for private posts. I can get it to search correctly if the user is an administrator, but for Author roles, it doesn’t give anything for a private post that the user has permission to read. The Author user can go to the page, but a search doesn’t bring up that page.
