• I am new to WordPress and didn’t create a child theme when I first started making my site (using Minamaze theme). I’ve tried doing this now and copy-pasting my style sheet but it won’t install properly (if I follow the instructions to create a child theme it just tells me that the theme isn’t already installed, when it actually is, and that the theme is ‘broken’).

Is there a way to retroactively create a child theme using my modified style sheet?

Lesson learnt. Create a child theme, folks!

    Hello gen.annag,

The best thing to do is download the version of Minamaze you were using when you creating your child theme. Then do a theme compare and note all the differences. Create a child theme for the differences then you should be able to just go ahead and use that child theme with the latest version of Minamaze as the parent theme.

    Hope this helps!
