Heya everyone, and thanks for your work!

I’m using the free version, and store the backups on the webserver itself.

Issue: Even though I set the weekly backups to “retain this many scheduled backups:” to 2, it doesn’t delete older backups, and keeps piling them up. This obviously results in using up a lot of storage.

Did I miss something? Or is there anything server related (e.g. cron) that isn’t working as expected?

Would love to hear from you! Best wishes…

    Hi there,

Thank you very much, we appreciate your kind appreciation!

Could you please provide the latest backup log file using PasteBin or a similar service?
There’s information in the log file which can help us identify the cause of the problem.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi there,

Thank you very much, I’m happy to help.

Thank you for the log file, it does indeed give me an idea of the problem with this line:
0021.067 (0) Prune old backups from local store: nothing to do, since the user disabled local deletion and we are using local backups.

This infers you should reactivate the Delete local backup in Settings >> Expert settings.
It may seem counter intuitive but should result in retention rules being correctly applied.

If you could please try this and run a test backup we can review if your problem is solved.

    Best regards,

    Nick
