Apologies if this has been answered already, I’ve had a look but haven’t found the answer…

We backup to remote storage, but I’d also like to keep the local files – following the same retention rules as for the remote storage, i.e. in our case delete files after 4 weeks.

    Is that possible?

Many thanks for a great product!

    Hi,

If you want to keep local backups you can disable the “delete local backup” option. You can find the “Delete local server backups” in the UpdraftPlus “Settings” tab > Show expert settings.

    Thanks,

Indeed I saw that option, but from what I can tell it just keeps the local files indefinitely. Will the local files be cleared following the remote retention policy?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

Yes, if that is enabled it will delete the local files after the backup is successfully sent to your remote storage.

Can you send me a copy of the backup log please?

Thank you for your reply Bryle,

I’m afraid I’m not making myself clear….. I’d like the files to be kept BOTH locally and remotely, and deleted according to the retention policy. Does that make sense? In our case, I’d like the files to be present BOTH on the web server, and on the remote serverfor two months.

Is that possible? From what I can see from the updraft settings, I can have the files EITHER on the remote server or on the local server, not BOTH.

    Thank you for your patience

    Hi @katso

    Apologies for the late reply.

Yes, you can store the backups on both locations. If the option is already disabled, there might something wrong or causing conflict with the plugin.

To check further, can you share to us the backup log please?

    Thanks,
    Bryle
