I am using the Featured Page Advanced widget with the Featured Page being one where the content changes — so I need an Auto Excerpt, not a Manual Custom one. When I use the Widget to show the page — If I select Show Page Content, the HTML Format is kept and shown in the Featured Page, but I don’t want to show the entire page. However, if I select Show Page Excerpt or Show Page Content, but with a number in Content Character Limit: — I lose all the HTML Formatting. Is there a fix for this? I don’t want to show the entire Page listed for the Featured Page, but want to keep the HTML format.

    Hi SunnyPapaBear,

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to get around this this. When you select excerpt, the plugin is using WordPress’s builtin function for retrieving excerpt which strips all HTML tags. Similarly to calculate the appropriate number of characters, HTML needs to be stripped.

I apologize for the inconvenience on this. If you want to use HTML, you would need to use the custom content option.

    Hi Nick.

When I put any HTML in the custom content option, it is adding line breaks. Tried <b> <div> <span>.

Basically just want to add some emphasis to a single word.

    Any suggestion for that?

    Thanks!

    Hi ccl1111,

The custom content area does not (should not) add line breaks, but it does wrap all of the content entered with paragraph tags (i.e. <p></p>). I am guessing your theme applies some bottom padding or margin to paragraphs, which might be creating the appearance of a line break.

Can you provide me with a link to where I can see this in action? That will help me be able to provide you with a solution.

Also for any future support requests, please create a separate ticket. It helps me keep track and WordPress does not always notify me when there are additional comments on closed tickets.

    Thanks!

    Nick
