Restricting some users from accessing the whole content

I’ve personally used Content Control as a lightweight coming soon plugin.

You can either show a custom message just like a coming soon page every time someone tries to access a post or page.

The first half of this screencast demos how that turned out.

Or, you can redirect everyone to the WordPress login page instead. You can always add a custom message on the login page too, so you can let visitors know your site is coming soon.
