    Hi!

I have two core users of my website, members and those just passing by or looking to become members.

My members use posts as a noticeboard.

I would like to know how I can stop those non members passing by viewing the posts, but still allow them to view all the other content on the website.

I’m not sure if this is plug in or code territory but any info available would be great!

    Thanks ??

  • One method that I think will work:

    • Set up a Static front page and a blog page under Admin->Settings->Reading
    • Create your Blog page and mark it Private by clicking ‘Edit’ under ‘Visibility:’ just above the ‘Publish/Update’ button.

Note that this will also remove the link from most menus, so you will need to provide an alternate method to link to the page.

EDIT: Just tried this and you can access the blog by using the permalink in the browser bat, so it really isn’t restricted, just hidden.

ahhh ok I see, thanks for your advice mate. I found a plug in called user access manager that I was able to use.

    Thanks again though!

    You are welcome!
