Hello guys, first of all. Amazing plugin… very helpful…. so i uploaded a scorm file on the course using your plugin… the only issue that i am getting is that if someone has the direct url access to the scorm file, then he/she can access the scorm file without logging in…. any help?

    Hello tno5,

thanks for giving our plugin a shot!

So, I just took a look and I think I found a way to add what you need. We can block direct access to the files within the module’s directory. It’s not something that prevents someone who is determined to access the files, but it blocks people from just being able to enter the url in the browser and getting to your module. I’ll add this in the next small update, probably later this week.

I’ll also try to come up a more sophisticated way of blocking access, but this will need some more development time.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more immediate help…

Hey, thanks a lot for the quick reply. It would be great if you could it this week ?? Would love to be able to protect the hard work…. also if this extra development to protect access from a determined person requires a fee, i am happy to pay ??

    Thanks

    No problem ??

I already have some solutions in mind, but I’ll get back to you on this once I have something solid.

Thanks ?? Okay so there is another issue as well… The plugin gives the following error:

“CLUEVO LMS requires a MySQL server version of at least 5.6. You are currently running version 5.5.5. Please update your MySQL server version. There will be issues if you run this plugin with an outdated MySQL server.”

However, I confirmed and we run MariaDB….

    [a181697d@cloudhost-139975 ~]$ mysql -V
mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.2.31-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using readline 5.1
    [a181697d@cloudhost-139975 ~]$

can you please check this error too!

Yes, we’re aware of that. This is because of the way WordPress reports the the MySQL version, it seems to default to 5.5.5 for MariaDB servers. You can safely ignore this warning. We’re working on a better way to detect the database version.

Thanks ?? Okay so another query…. when i use a shortcode to add a scorm module to a page, it does not pop up? i mean it is embedded in the page… is there a way to make it pop up in a new window or tab?

Thanks for such a quick support

At the moment the shortcode for modules always embeds via iframe. If you want a tile to show up, you could include the parent element via shortcode. We could probably add a shortcode parameter to include a module as link or tile. I’ll see what I can come up with.

Thanks alot! how can i add a parent element via a shortcode?

    Thanks again

You just use the id of the modules parent. You do have to have the module inside of a course or chapter for this to work though.

    Hey Any updates? ??

Yup, got a bit side-tracked by some issues with our dev environment, but we’re back on track now. No fixed date that yet, just soonish. Sorry I can’t be more specific, it’s a bit hectic at the moment.

Hey guys, just a head’s up: I’ve added the basic security feature and it’s going to be in the next minor update. It just needs a bit more testing before it’s ready for release.

    Thanks for bearing with us!

Hey – thanks a lot ?? Love you people. God Bless you! I hope you guys also launch a subscription plugin with paid and added features. Would love to buy!

Hey guys, just wanted to inform you that the update with the basic security feature just went live. You can find the setting on the general settings page of the plugin.
We’ll try to come up with a more sophisticated version of this in the future.
Oh, and if you test it be sure to clear your cache, otherwhise it will look like it’s not working because your browser displays the module from cache.

I’m closing this for now, but feel free to open another post if anything comes up!
