    Hi.
Have just installed the plugin and it looks great. Just got one question before I start changing any settings…

    My aim is…
I have a client that needs to access the Gravity Forms plugin on their site, but that’s all I want them to see/access: only the ‘Forms’ Menu Option.

As they wont be able to see any plugin options with the ‘Editor’ role, I’ll have to set them up with an ‘Admin’ role.

The thing is, when I set restrictions for Admins, when I log in as Admin how will I get access? Would I have to keep going into Adminimize and turning off my setting? If yes then I guess my client could also?

is there a simply way of applying the settings only to a specific ‘User’ rather than a ‘group-Role’?

Sorry if this seems a silly question – perhaps I’m being too over cautious.
    Thanks guys.

  • I have the same question.

I love the plugin to manage group permissions, but it seems I am only able to “deactivate” so I need to always start with a higher role and reduce the roles permissions to match what I want.

Unfortunately, a lot of the things I want to give my lower admins needs to start with the admin role and “deactivate” what I don’t want them to do. This means I too am an admin but get deactivated. ??

Is there a way to specify permissions for single users?

Is there a way to “activate” instead of “deactivating” permissions so I can give extra power to an editor instead or downgrading an admin?

    Thanks

The only way to specify single user is a role for each user, but not helpful.
It give it no way t active additional on the role, the functionality from the core can’t this. You can only create a new role, a copy from the administration role and reduce. But a important hint. The plugin Adminimize don’t change the rights, the capabilities – it is only a hide of a area inside the back end.

    Thanks Frank.

    Quick question/suggestion….
How about password protecting the Adminimize settings panel? That should do it.

Can you please help as I cant access adminimize panel to manage features. Where can I change setting manually so I can access most of disabled dashboard again.

Hope this is helpful to anybody thinking of using this app –

I have it set up on my client’s site as follows….

All Admin settings (which includes the client and myself) are set to Deactivate/Hide just about everything, except the Settings tab (which also has the Adminimize app settings in it).

Whenever I need to make a change on the site, all I do is click on Adminimize in settings, and then all the other settings become momentarily available to me. of course, each time I want to do something I have to keep clicking on Adminimize, but if the sites been mostly all set up, then only tinkering is required from then on.

The client could do the same, but clients tend not to wonder too far and they wont know what Adminimize does in amongst all the other settings.

It’s not until you click on the Adminimize settings that everything becomes available again. Try it on a test site and see for yourself.

Problem is that I opt out Adminimize app in settings for admin as well I was hoping it will not affect me as I’m supper admin just my users who are admin as well? Now I can access it at all. I’m wondering is there location where this data is stored so I can change it manually via cpanel directly in database or wherever I have to change it?

This app should have “Supper Admin” setting that overrides app completely.

Please can someone help as I cant continue work on the site?

    Regards

    Alex
